Overnight stays spent in the Azorean hotels and similar establishments, tourism in rural areas and lodging tourism and local accommodation increased by 12,7% in May 2019 compared with May 2018. From January to May, overnight stays increased by 16,2% compared with the same period in 2018. Overnight stays spent in the Azorean hotels and similar establishments increased by 5,3% in May 2019 compared with May 2018. From January to May, overnight stays spent in the Azorean hotel establishments increased by 5,4% compared with the same period in 2018. Overnight stays spent by residents increased by 13,6% and overnight stays spent by non-residents decreased by 3,3%. Guests registered an increase of 4,9% in May and an increase of 5,1% from January to May. In May 2019, the average stay was 2,93 nights (0,3%) and the bed occupancy rate stood at 56,7% (0,6 p.p.). Total revenue increased by 13,5% and revenue from accommodation increased by 15,7% in May 2019. RevPar was EUR 50,9 and registered an increase of 11,6%. Overnight stays spent in the Azorean local accommodation increased by 41,2% in May 2019 compared with May 2018. From January to May, overnight stays spent in the Azorean local accommodation increased by 58,3% compared with the same period in 2018. Overnight stays spent by residents increased by 46,4% and overnight stays spent by non-residents increased by 67,7%.
