Overnight stays spent in the Azorean hotels and similar establishments, tourism in rural areas and lodging tourism and local accommodation increased by 8,4% in January 2020 compared with January 2019. Overnight stays spent in the Azorean hotels and similar establishments increased by 6,5% in January 2020 compared with January 2019. Overnight stays spent by residents increased by 8,1% and overnight stays spent by non-residents increased by 4,1%. Guests registered an increase of 6,8% in January. In January 2020, the average stay was 2,58 nights (-0,4%) and the bed occupancy rate stood at 23,3% (0,5 p.p.). Total revenue increased by 8,8% and revenue from accommodation increased by 8,3% in January 2020. RevPar was EUR 14,7 and registered an increase of 5,0%. Overnight stays spent in the Azorean local accommodation increased by 16,0% in January 2020 compared with January 2019. Overnight stays spent by residents increased by 8,4% and overnight stays spent by non-residents increased by 22,3%.
