Overnight stays spent in the Azorean hotels and similar establishments, tourism in rural areas and lodging tourism and local accommodation increased by 7,2% in March 2019 compared with March 2018. From January to March, overnight stays increased by 11,4% compared with the same period in 2018. Overnight stays spent in the Azorean hotels and similar establishments increased by 1,5% in March 2019 compared with March 2018. From January to March, overnight stays spent in the Azorean hotel establishments increased by 1,5% compared with the same period in 2018. Overnight stays spent by residents increased by 11,7% and overnight stays spent by non-residents decreased by 12,0%. Guests registered a decrease of 1,8% in March and an increase of 4,2% from January to March. In March 2019, the average stay was 3,03 nights (3,4%) and the bed occupancy rate stood at 37,8% (-1,3 p.p.). Total revenue increased by 5,7% and revenue from accommodation increased by 5,3% in March 2019. RevPar was EUR 23,5 and registered an increase of 0,9%. Overnight stays spent in the Azorean local accommodation increased by 31,9% in March 2019 compared with March 2018. From January to March, overnight stays spent in the Azorean local accommodation increased by 56,1% compared with the same period in 2018. Overnight stays spent by residents increased by 56,5% and overnight stays spent by non-residents decreased by 55,7%.
